14 April 2026 – Study Visit Program FPV UMK to ARASC USM

On 14 April 2026 (Tuesday), a Study Visit Program organised by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), was held at the Animal Research and Service Centre (ARASC), Universiti Sains Malaysia, Health Campus, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. The programme involved a total of forty-four (44) Year Four (4) Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students, accompanied by four (4) lecturers.

The program commenced with an introductory briefing on ARASC, followed by a visit to the rodent breeding room, as well as demonstrations on the handling and restraint of rodents and rabbits.

The main objective of this visit was to provide early exposure to students on the techniques of handling and restraining laboratory animals, as well as to introduce the facilities and research activities conducted at ARASC USM. In addition, the programme aimed to strengthen academic collaboration between Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) in the field of animal science and biomedical research.
